I left my home in Las Vegas toward the end of May, expecting a quick scouting trip — a chance to plan compositions and locations for my fall visit to this familiar valley. It was over 110 degrees when I packed the truck. The desert air felt heavy, hot, and alive with the hum of summer.

But a few hours later, as I climbed higher into the mountains, everything changed. What was supposed to be a warm spring evening turned into a full whiteout blizzard. Snow fell thick and fast — the kind that erases the horizon and swallows all sound. I couldn’t help but laugh at the contrast — from burning heat to frozen silence in a single day.

I decided to wait it out, hoping for even a glimpse of the peaks that drew me there in the first place. For a long while, it was nothing but white — a blank canvas of fog and falling snow. And then, for just a moment, it happened. The clouds lifted, and the towering Maroon Bells broke through the storm, their ridges glowing faintly through the mist.

That fleeting window — no more than a few seconds — was enough. The shot came together quietly, almost reverently, before the mountains disappeared once more behind the snow.

This image, Winter Wonderland, is a reminder that nature doesn’t follow our plans. Sometimes, the moments that stay with us aren’t the ones we chase — they’re the ones we stumble into, when the world decides to surprise us.

• Metal prints are packaged using padded spacers and custom-fit materials to keep them secure. For larger metal pieces, custom-built wood crates are used to provide additional protection and ensure stability throughout shipment.
  

Every shipment is fully insured from the moment it leaves the studio until it arrives safely at your door. In the rare event that your artwork is damaged during shipping, I will replace it at no cost to you.
