About This Image

Location: Monterey, CA

Every great adventure begins with a spark—and for me, it was a spontaneous road trip to Monterey with my wife to celebrate six years of marriage. No itinerary. No expectations. Just a tank full of gas and the kind of freedom that makes you feel 17 again.

As golden hour approached, I had a hunch the sky was about to do something special. We pulled off near a quiet beach, and I jumped out with my camera in hand, hoping to catch the magic. The beach was scattered with incredible rocks and tide-washed textures—foreground heaven. But even after exploring every angle, something just didn’t click. I couldn’t find the composition that felt right.

Then the light began to fade.

That’s when doubt creeps in, right? When you think, Maybe this just isn’t the shot today.

So I walked back toward where my wife was, only to find her happily collecting sea glass and tiny shells. No pressure. Just joy. That moment reset my mind. And that’s when I saw it.

Just behind her—almost like it had been waiting for me—this scene came to life.

The horizon ignited in a second blush, that fleeting phenomenon where the sun, long dipped, gives the sky one last kiss of fire. The water shimmered with hues of lavender and gold, the rocks stood in gentle defiance against the tide, and everything felt still, quiet, alive.

Click.

That was the shot.

Not the one I was chasing… but the one that found me.

Limited Edition vs Open Edition

Our Limited Edition prints are produced using a unique, high-resolution printing process that captures maximum detail, depth, and color accuracy—far superior to traditional methods used for open edition prints. Each piece is hand-signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring its rarity and value.

Open Edition prints, while still high-quality, do not have a set production limit and are printed using traditional methods. They are a great way to enjoy Riley Clark’s work at a more accessible price, but they do not carry the same exclusivity or premium detail as the museum-quality Limited Editions.

Tips for Choosing the Right Size Art

🖼 Bigger is (usually) better

If you’re hanging above a sofa, bed, or fireplace, aim for a print that’s around 60–75% of the furniture’s width. It’ll feel more balanced and make a stronger statement.

📏 Measure twice, decorate once

Tape out dimensions on your wall using painter’s tape to visualize different sizes. This quick step can save a lot of guesswork.

📲 Use the AR Preview Tool

See exactly how each piece will look on your wall—framed, finished, and true to scale. It’s like a fitting room for your art.

🖤 Go with your gut

Some rooms call for subtle, others for bold. Trust your instinct and let your space guide you.
