Location: Valley of Fire State Park, NV
The Valley of Fire has always been one of my favorite playgrounds. Just a short drive from home, it’s a place I return to often—especially in the off-season. When the summer heat rolls in and the crowds thin out, that’s when the real magic starts to happen.
Of course, it takes a bit of grit to embrace 100+ degree days with a camera in hand. But for those brave (or maybe just stubborn) enough to endure it, the reward is solitude—and scenes most never get to witness.
This particular day, I had already passed by this natural rock arch three times. I was hunting for a “better” composition. Something more dramatic. Something different. Each time, I looked… and moved on.
But on the third pass, something shifted. The light dipped just low enough to trace the curves of the sandstone. The textures popped. The warmth of the rock glowed like fire from within.
So I stopped. I set up. I waited.
And finally, I made the image.
It was a reminder to stop chasing the next best thing—and to recognize when the scene in front of you is the one.

- 14-day returns on all prints. Free replacements if damaged.
- Return shipping is deducted from your refund (label provided).
- Store credit = no fees. Larger prints (30"+) include a restocking fee.

Sizing Tip: When planning for your wall space, allow for a couple of extra inches beyond the artwork size to account for mats and frames.
