Growing up, I was captivated by old Westerns, often watching them with my grandparents. Those films shaped my love for the rugged beauty of the untamed frontier—where towering peaks, weathered barns, and endless skies told stories of grit, adventure, and the pioneering spirit.

 

When I finally found myself standing in the San Juan Mountains, surrounded by landscapes straight out of my favorite Westerns, it was surreal. These barns—icons of the Old West—had been featured in some of the very films I had grown up watching.
