Break of Dawn

Winter had reached the peaks. Autumn wasn’t quite ready to leave the valley.

 

I photographed this near Ridgway, Colorado, as first light reached Mount Sneffels after fresh morning snow. Below the mountain, the aspens were still holding on to their fall color.

 

That was what pulled me in. Snow on the peaks, warmth in the valley, and calm water reflecting them both. Two seasons sharing the same landscape for a little while.

 

The air was quiet. The light was soft. Before the day got going, there was this brief moment when everything felt still.

 

You can visit the same place again. Catching it like this is another thing. A little more snow, a little less color, a breeze across the water, and you’re looking at a different photograph.

 

Break of Dawn is about that short window in the San Juans, when autumn is still holding on and winter is already settling in.

 

I’m glad I was there while they overlapped.

How does the free framing offer work?

As a first-time collector, you pay the regular unframed print price and receive professional framing at no additional charge. Choose Midnight Black or Nordic Oak—both are included.

 

Your savings depend on the print size: $50 on 12×18, $100 on 16×24, $150 on 20×30, and $200 on 24×36. The order buttons automatically apply your savings, so there’s no code to enter.

What comes with my print?

You’ll receive a signed fine art photographic print, professionally framed in real wood with a 3″ white mat, a ¾″ signature white border, and a 1¼″ frame face. Hanging hardware is included, so your artwork arrives ready to hang.

What frame finishes can I choose?

Choose Midnight Black for a clean, contemporary look or Nordic Oak for a lighter, natural wood finish. Both include the same white mat and signed print, and both qualify for free framing.

Do the listed sizes include the frame?

The size you select refers to the print. The mat and frame make the finished piece larger.

 

For this horizontal photograph, the finished dimensions are:

Yes. I photographed The Wild West near Telluride, Colorado. It’s a real landscape I captured in the field—not an AI-generated image.

Your artwork is made to order. Please allow 3–5 business days for production, followed by shipping time to your address.
